Ansle Adams

What was his education before attending private school?

Not much, he wasn't successful due to dyslexia. His aunt and dad tutored him at home. His diploma was equivalent to graduating eighth grade.

Talk about his other profession beside being a photographer

He played piano from the age of twelve, but gave it up for photography. He also dabbled in lecturing and writing.

When was his first fully visualized photograph, monolith, the Face of Half Dome created? 1927

At least 3 other facts that I have not mentioned already.

He worked 18 hours per day.  He loved to party and entertain. He really cared about environmental issues.

I chose this photograph because I love how mysterious it is. You can see into the depths of the forest, but there is enough shadows that you can still be left guessing about what may be hiding there. I love how beautiful it is, and it reminds me of home. I lived in Northern California, where this photo was taken, until I was 8, and I travel back at least once a year. Even though it certainly doesn't look like this everywhere, it reminds me of  camping trips and barbecues with my family.
